How should defoamer be added to be effective?

1、Adding defoamer before foaming
This method is able to inhibit the production of foam by adding an antifoam agent beforehand to the system that may produce foam. For closed containers and devices, the defoamer can effectively play the effect of eliminating foam.
2、Continuously adding antifoam agent
When the foaming liquid is either circulating or flowing, the defoaming agent will be consumed along with the circulating flow of the foaming liquid, in this case, the defoamer can effectively play a role in eliminating the effect of foam by utilizing the method of continuous drop-in defoamer, if supplemented with a metering pump, the amount of additives can be effectively controlled, so as to achieve the purpose of the most economical use of defoamer.
Matters to note before adding defoamer
1, need to fully stir the emulsion before use. Because the emulsion is not uniform will be easy to produce stratification, affecting the use of antifoam agent effect.
2, try to use thickeners to open thinning. Silicone defoamer can be diluted when used, but dilution at the same time the stability of the defoamer will be sharply reduced, such as the occurrence of delamination, so it is recommended to try to use thickening agent to open dilution, if diluted with water, then add water to the defoamer and stir slowly, the day of dilution the same day to be used up.
3、Prevent frost. Silicone defoamer is very sensitive to frost and high temperature and easy to be destroyed. If the defoamer has been frozen, it must be frosted carefully and tested before use.
