How to choose circuit board cleaning defoamer

The circuit board is in the process of cleaning. It is easy to generate a large amount of foam due to cleaning agents, etc., resulting in a lot of foam remaining on the circuit board, which not only fails to achieve the cleaning effect, but also increases the difficulty of cleaning. How to choose a suitable defoamer when encountering the problem of circuit board cleaning foam?
1. Select the appropriate circuit board cleaning and defoaming agent according to the presence or absence of silicon
Circuit board cleaning is divided into silicon polyether type and silicon-free type:
*Silicon polyether defoamer is a silicone-free defoamer and antifoaming agent formulated with special ethers as the main component. Strong defoaming and anti-foaming ability, insoluble in water, easily soluble in organic solvents, usually used as common defoamer
*Silicon-free defoamer, a silicon-free defoamer and anti-foaming agent formulated with special ethers as the main component. Good dispersibility, stable defoaming under strong alkali and high temperature.
2. Select the appropriate antifoam according to the application scenario
*Defoamers specially used for PCB industrial process, it is recommended to use PCB defoamers
Reasons: strong defoaming and high stability; good washability, will not remain on the board surface, causing quality problems in the post-process; low COD, low consumption, will not affect the dry film to cause seepage, will not affect the solderability, Wide operating range.
*Defoamer used in the whole process of PCB, it is recommended to use circuit board defoamer
Reason: easy to disperse, easy to use, strong defoaming and anti-foaming ability. Will not corrode machinery, environmental protection. Good water solubility, no oil phase or less oil phase, no residue.
*For the defoamer used in the entire PCB production process, it is recommended to use a special defoamer for green ink
Reason: fast defoaming speed, long foam suppression time, high temperature resistance, strong alkali resistance, and strong stability. Especially suitable for defoaming and anti-foaming under alkaline conditions.
*Defoamer used for circuit board cleaning/PCB production process, it is recommended to use circuit board silicon-free defoamer
Reason: strong defoaming and anti-foaming ability, will not affect solderability, good compatibility, acid and alkali resistance, good water washability, and no residue.
