How is foam generated during drilling?

In serious cases, it may even cause poisoning, fire and other dangers to the site operators. The role of defoamer in mud is to eliminate the bubbles generated in the drilling fluid, to realize the effective improvement of drilling efficiency and safety, in terms of its physical and chemical properties should meet the following conditions:

1. Defoamer for drilling fluid should have lower surface tension than the foaming medium, insoluble in the foaming medium, and not affected by the foaming system capacity building and degradation.

2. Oil field defoamer is inert to the foaming system, no chemical reaction, no side effects on the final product, does not affect the performance and appearance of the product.

3. Antifoam is required to meet the special conditions of the drilling process, such as pH and temperature requirements.
