Is the more defoamer used, the better? Dosage standard of defoamer
Many industries may face bubbles in their manufacturing process. At this time, it is necessary to choose a defoamer to eliminate foam. In different industries, the types of defoamers we choose are also different. At the same time, the amount of defoamer agent added is also different. So, is the more defoamer used, the better? What is the standard dosage of defoamer agent?
The role of defoamer agent can be divided into three types: foam breaking, foam suppression, and defoaming.
1. Foam breaking property: By adsorbing foam and surface tension, it enters the foam film to make the foundation thinner, which can quickly destroy the foam and reduce the liquid level.
2. Anti-foaming property: refers to substances that can inhibit the generation of foam. It adsorbs on the foam together with the liquid foam, rapidly reduces the surface tension, thins and breaks the foam film, and prevents foaming.
3. Defoaming: Adsorbed to bubbles in the liquid and gathers the air in the bubbles. After the bubbles are adsorbed to each other, large bubbles are formed at the adsorption interface. Increased buoyancy increases speed and promotes defoaming.
Defoaming agent generally have various functions such as breaking foam, inhibiting foam, and defoaming. The antifoam selected for the foaming caused by different ways or reasons is different, so the formula screening of the antifoam agent is particularly important.
Each defoamer agent works differently. Therefore, the amount of defoamer agent used in various industries is also different.
E.g:
*The defoamer for direct drainage of ordinary sewage treatment uses silicone defoamer, and the addition amount is about 10-100ppm (subject to 10ppm);
*The addition amount of antifoam agent in the water treatment of the biochemical pool of the aeration tank is about 0.01%~0.3%, and the high-efficiency polyether defoamer is used;
*The dosage of cleaning agent and defoamer is about 0.01~0.5%, high-efficiency transparency type defoamer;
*The dosage of shield mud defoaming agent is 10-100ppm, and modified silicon polyethers are used;
*The desulfurization defoamer agent used in the power plant is polyether, and the addition amount is about 0.01~0.3%.
For different industries, the dosage of each defoamer is different. It depends on the situation of the foam on site. If there is a lot of foam, you can increase it within this ratio range, and if the defoaming is good, you can reduce it appropriately.
